Sliding scale for women's circles
I host my Mother Nature Circles in Quedjinup, south-west Western Australia.
Location
Inspired by the Green Bottle sliding scale concept (see graphic below), I offer three tiers of payment for Mother Nature Circles:
1. Full bottle: Cost plus 50% pay-it-forward donation to support another ($25 + $12.50 donation) = $37.50
2. Half full bottle: Cost $25
3. Least full bottle: Subsidised for those experiencing financial hardship $12.50
Full bottle:
I’m comfortably able to meet all my basic needs*.
I may have some debt but it doesn’t prevent me meeting my basic needs.
I own my home or another property, or I rent a higher-end property.
I own a car.
I’m employed or don’t need to work.
I have a high level of private health insurance, or can access the health care I need.
I have financial savings.
I have investments.
I have an expendable** income.
I can always afford to buy new items.
I can afford to travel for pleasure and take time off for rest/recreation.
Half full bottle:
I may stress about meeting my basic needs* but still regularly achieve them.
I may have debt, but can meet basic needs*.
I might have some financial stress about future needs.
I own my home or rent a higher-end property.
I own or lease a car.
I am employed.
I have access to basic private health insurance, and can access reasonable health care, though may have to plan ahead to save for it.
I might have access to some financial savings.
I have some expendable** income.
I am able to buy some new items, and I thrift others.
I can take a holiday each year or every few years without financial burden.
Least full bottle:
I stress about meeting basic needs* and don’t always meet them.
I have debt and it sometimes prohibits me from meeting basic needs*.
I rent or have unstable housing.
I own/lease a car but am not always able to afford petrol or repairs, or I have limited access to a car.
I don’t have private health insurance and getting sick can be stressful financially.
I have no or limited financial savings.
I am underemployed, or not employed.
I qualify for government assistance programs and have a health care card.
I have to actively save in order to take a holiday or time off.
I have had to take off work for caregiving tasks.
