Frequently Asked Questions

What are women's circles?

Women's circles are gatherings for women to share experiences, support each other, and foster community.

I am trained to facilitate a type of women's circle called a Mother Nature Circle. Mother Nature Circles were born from the collective knowledge of an international group of women on how to lead circles and speak to the essence of parenthood and womanhood, with the support of illustrations on Mother Nature Cards. They encourage connection to ourselves, to our communities and to nature.

For more FAQs about women's circles, please see the Women's circles page.

Can my children be with us while we garden?
What is companion gardening?

Yes. As well as being an experienced mother, I am trained in postpartum education and care, and early childhood studies. If your children are playing alongside or helping us, I will interact appropriately with them, and be flexible when your children’s needs change while we’re working.

I am a family-friendly, mothering-friendly, child-friendly business.

Companion gardening means I work alongside you in your home garden. The goal is to make gardening feel more achievable and enjoyable for you. We can work in your veggie garden, herb garden, cottage garden, orchard, or whatever patch of earth you have.

You may be a new gardener seeking guidance, or an experienced gardener who is slowing down and wishing for help with some tasks. How much you work with me depends on your needs on the day – its flexible, and we communicate.

I bring tools, a smile, and a willingness to chat, listen or just work in companionable silence.

Sometimes talking about what Mother Nature Connection companion gardening is not about, helps people understand what we are about. We’re not a race in, rush it through, non-connection type of service. If you want your deluxe holiday rental garden to be perfectly manicured, perhaps other services would meet your needs better.

I offer companion gardening services in Dunsborough, Quedjinup, Quindalup, Yallingup, Eagle Bay, Kealy, Yallingup Siding, Anniebrook and Marybrook.

I host women’s circles in Quedjinup, south-west Western Australia.

It seems like you’re all about mothers. Do I have to be a mother, or even a woman, to do companion gardening with you?

Most people mother something in life – a community, a pet, a child birthed by another, a creative project, a garden. Anyone is welcome to request companion gardening services – male, female, non-binary or other, and any age. The mothering energy is an energy of working in a holistic and collaborative way (even if you need to sit and guide me, or chat while I work, or rest in comfortable silence nearby).
